Project Title: Sources of Information and Decision Making

Investigators: Julie Abernathy Dr. Michael Carlin

Department of Psychology

Description and Purpose:

This is a study on how people judge different sources of information and how these sources affect their decision making. The purpose is to learn more about the decision making process and the effect an abundance of information has on it.

Procedures:

The study will be conducted using the on-line site PsychData. First, you will read some general information about chelation. Then, you will read more information about chelation written by various people. After that, you will be asked a few questions about the information you have read and the quality of the information provided. It is expected that it will take about 20 minutes to complete.

PsychData uses sophisticated encryption technology and does not track IP addresses. These measures are taken to protect your confidentiality on-line. No one, including the investigators, will be able to link your responses to your name. The data generated by the study may be reviewed by Rider University's Institutional Review Board, which is the committee responsible for ensuring the welfare and rights of a research participant, to assure proper conduct of the study, and compliance with university regulations.

Participant's Right to Withdraw from the Study:
