NCPEID Call for Proposals 2018

NCPEID Call for Poster Presentations, Free Communication Presentations,

and the Emerging Scholars Symposium for the 2018 NCPEID Conference

July 19th - July 21st at the Crowne Plaza Washington National Airport

 

The NCPEID organizes peer-reviewed, competitively selected presentations for its annual National Conference program under three primary categories.


Poster Presentations:

  • Proposal abstract length: 250-300 words

  • Posters should present current research, or most current research related issues such as advocacy, professional development, or other areas.

  • Poster presentation proposals should include the following sections and/or headers:  Title; Authors, Affiliation, Contact information; Introduction/Purpose; Methodology; Results/Discussion; Summary/Conclusions

  • The poster should be no larger than 3’ x 4’ in size.  NCPEID will provide poster putty. Poster Presentation authors should plan to bring handouts of poster material such as the reference list and the poster content, a one page abstract with author contact information, business cards, etc., to give to those interested.

Free Communications Presentations:

  • Proposal abstract length: 250-300 words

  • Free communications should be centered on research, best practices, advocacy, grant seeking, or other areas. The free communications should be formatted as a 15-20 minute oral presentation that will presented to the entire audience of attendees.

Emerging Scholars Symposium:

  • Proposal abstract length: 250-300 words

  • This session is dedicated to students and practitioners who are new to but actively engaged in the research process and are seeking feedback from scholars in the field.

    • Note: The lead author accepted for the Emerging Scholars Symposium will have the conference registration fees waived.

  • Emerging Scholars Symposium will be designed in the following format:

    • Students or practitioners orally presenting their research in progress to the entire audience (5-8 min per presenter).

    • Followed by a 20-minute breakout poster session format at their poster area, where the emerging scholars receive additional feedback and inquiries individually from audience members.

    • Poster presentation proposals should include the following sections and/or headers:    Title; Authors, Affiliation, Contact information; Introduction/Purpose; Methodology; Preliminary Findings/Results/Discussion (if applicable); Summary/Conclusions (if applicable)

  • The poster should be no larger than 3’ x 4’ in size. NCPEID will provide poster putty. Poster Presentation authors should plan to bring handouts of poster material such as the reference list and the poster content, a one page abstract with author contact information, business cards, etc., to give to those interested.

Note that ALL presentation proposals for the 2018 NCPEID National Conference should be submitted by April 30, 2018. Presenters will be notified of acceptance by May 15, 2018.
